It is the most recent of these developer-focused projects, and focuses specifically on being a command-line tool to enable the process of going from code checked in to source control, through building containers to Kubernetes manifests updated and deployed. It is also set up to be a component in a larger toolchain, and has hooked to work with other projects, most notably Helm, for the deployment portion of what it does.
