Many people know the popular quote by George Bernard Shaw: “England and America are two countries separated by a common language.” And everyone knows that the same word in English can have widely different meanings between the United Kingdom and the United States.

We have written about this before but thought it would be helpful to include words related to a specific topic this time—driving. We hope you’ll be “chuffed to bits” or “dead chuffed” (really delighted) by these examples and their various meanings in the United Kingdom and the United States.
