WORKWEEK
Monday through Friday is the normal workweek, but many businesses may be open Saturday mornings. Banking hours may be 8:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. and then 3:00 to 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. Family-owned firms are commonplace, and their hours of operation are not always rigid.
Meetings can run hours over schedule, so never overbook your day.
The month of August is the height of the holidays, so appointments generally stop in August and resume in September. Each major city observes a feast day for its patron saint as well, and celebrations around Christmas and Easter can bridge several weeks.
A standard paid vacation package is a generous 20 days, with approximately 12 additional holidays as well.
