Know who the “Famous Five” were. Emily Murphy, Irene Parlby, Nellie McClung, Louise McKinney, and Henrietta Muir Edwards were the impetus for the Persons Case of 1929, a decision by the British Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. The five suffragettes have monuments dedicated to them in Ottawa and Calgary, and their picture is on a Canadian 50-dollar bill.
