You will be expected to arrive on time, but your Brazilian counterpart may be anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour late. Never make it obvious that you are distressed over a client’s late arrival, and never overbook your day. If you have to cut short—or completely miss—an appointment due to scheduling delays, you may as well eliminate that prospect from your list.

Different regions of Brazil have different perceptions of time. The north is more relaxed than the south (where there are many Brazilians of German heritage). Cariocas (people from Rio) may be less punctual than Paulistas (people from São Paulo).
