The big picture

The Stage-Gate model, also referred to as the Phase-Gate model, takes the often complex and chaotic process of taking an idea (e.g. for a new technology, a new product or a process improvement) from inception to launch and divides it into stages or phases (where project activities are conducted), separated by gates (where business evaluations and ‘go/kill’ decisions are made).
