The big picture
Random word technique is a tool to enable you to generate creative ideas to resolve difficult problems. To be creative you need to think beyond the obvious. If we have a problem to solve, we may bring with us a lot of baggage related to the problem. Because we know something of the nature of the problem, we tend to solve it within the confines of that knowledge. Random word technique allows you to throw off the shackles of existing knowledge, take the problem to a different level, then return to the original problem with fresh, new ideas.
