Flexible leadership has been described as an ability to lead and manage in a non-rigid manner; however, this can often be wrongly perceived as having a negotiable, consensus-driven or popularity-focused approach. Leadership flexibility is being able to access, implement and execute a full range of strategies and approaches to get optimal responses, returns and results from any given situation or scenario. Flexible leadership is about trusting and being trusted to adopt and adapt whatever style and approach is required to deliver optimal outcomes – to protect the results as ‘non-negotiable’ by keeping the process as ‘negotiable’. ...
