There are five stages of Distress or what is often called burnout. You may notice these in your life and other’s lives. These stages are not necessarily linear. You can be in the third stage without passing through the first or second stages. It can be any one, a combination, or all of these.
1. Physical burnout. The physical symptoms manifest themselves differently for each person. What do you begin to notice about yourself when you are overwhelmed and out of balance? What do you notice in your body?
