Managing Manual and Automated Test Scripts

Because test scripts are fairly complicated and because many may be required during the test, it is best to organize them in test case folios. The test cases in the folio can be conveniently grouped according to the design objectives or requirements of the system they test. Based on Hetzel's earlier work, scripted test case folios should minimally contain (2)

  1. Sections detailing the objects to be tested

  2. Sections describing restrictions and limitations on script use

  3. Sections with an overall description of the test scenario

  4. Sections organizing groups of scripts according to purpose

  5. Sections that describe the expected behaviors for each script
