Conclusion

The data-driven testing frameworks discussed in this chapter are generic scaffolds for automating the testing of application software that have moved beyond the limitations of the capture/playback paradigm representing the first generation of automated testing. They are designed to allow for the execution of a large number of functional variations of the test data using a small number of test scripts and subroutines/functions.
