Just as the OS and networking equipment hardware need updates and maintenance, you must also maintain and audit the configuration files on the Juniper devices to ensure that changes in either the configurations or the network architecture have not led to issues that can cause network downtime. Well-planned and proactive auditing systems not only are necessary for maintaining continuous systems, but also are a matter of great importance today when it comes to compliance with data security standards laid out by such groups as the Payment Card Industry and the federal government.
