Chapter 9. Faster jQuery

jQuery's detractors have two legitimate complaints against it. The first complaint is that jQuery creates hard-to-read, spaghetti code. In the previous chapter, we addressed this complaint by showing how to write code that is both easy to read and maintain. The second complaint is that jQuery creates slow code. This, too, is a legitimate complaint. The problem with jQuery or any other library is that if you don't understand it, it is easy to choose the wrong way to do something.
