11. The XML File and the Template Parameters

The templateDetails.xml file is a central part of the template. All content is deposited here in XML format. Without this XML file, a template would not run. In principle, it is something like a table of contents for your template. Among other information, it contains the name of the template, its author, the license, the files it contains, the module positions, a brief description, and of course the template parameters. If this file is missing, the template cannot be installed later.
