UPLOADING IMAGES

To use Simple Image Gallery, you need to create a new folder inside of the images/stories folder using the Media Manager. You can find an explanation of how to get to the Media Manager and create a new folder in Lesson 12.

Once the new folder is created, upload your large-format images. Do not upload images directly off your digital camera. In all likelihood, you will need to resize these images to something smaller that will display on the screen. You can use the software that came with your digital camera to do this, or you can work with a program like Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Photoshop Elements.

For each gallery that you want to display on your website, you should create a separate folder and upload images to that folder.

For the purposes of this lesson, we'll use the images in the fruit folder in the Media Manager. These images come with Joomla and are already uploaded to the site.
