CONFIGURING YOUR PHOTOS

Once you have picked out the photos for your random image module, you should crop them so that they are all the same size, whatever size that is. You can do this with the software that came with your digital camera, with a commercial product like Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Fireworks, or with open-source software like GIMP.

images The size you should use for your photos depends on where the images are displayed on the site. Your template's documentation should indicate the maximum width, which should not be exceeded, of a given module location. If an image does exceed the maximum width specified by the template, this image could change the overall layout of the website.

You can have different heights for your images without affecting the template layout in most cases. However, if you do this, any modules appearing underneath the random image module may move up and down on the site with the changing height of the random image.

For the most professional results, I recommend using the exact same height and width for all images. If an image doesn't look good at that height and width, don't use it in the random image module!

Once your images are configured, go to the Media Manager. Then, in the stories folder, create a folder for your images and upload them there.
