Enter some text for the articles planned for the website. Refer to the site map in Lesson 2 for some of the planned pages. Be sure to assign each article the correct section and category.

If you don't have content written for each article yet, don't panic! It's a long-standing tradition to use placeholder text if your final text is not yet prepared. The text is often called lorem ipsum, due to its starting phrase, and it refers to fake Latin filler text that can be used to populate the page. The advantage of using this text is that it's clear that it is not the final text for the page, yet the words and paragraphs are distributed much like the final page will look and feel.

You can download lorem ipsum text from www.lipsum.com.

Lesson Requirements

You will need the content for your website (or lorem ipsum dummy text). It's recommended that you not paste the content directly from Microsoft Word. I will show you how to move content from Word to your Joomla site in Lesson 11. For now, even if you have content in Word, use the lorem ipsum dummy text.

Hints

I recommend you have at least one very long article (more than five paragraphs), one short article (one paragraph or a few sentences), and the other articles can be whatever length you choose.

Remember: Do not paste your content directly from Word. Otherwise, you will likely encounter a number of funny characters, weird formatting, and other issues.
