WHAT YOU NEED TO USE THIS BOOK
To get the best results while using this book, the following items are required:
- A computer with an Internet connection
- A web browser. I strongly recommend using Mozilla Firefox, a free download from www.firefox.com. While Joomla works with Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome, and other web browsers, occasional bugs may be encountered. Firefox is available for Windows and Macintosh computers.
- A domain name, at least by the time the site is ready to launch. I explain what a domain name is and how to purchase one in Lesson 3.
- Web hosting. I explain where to purchase good Joomla web hosting in Lesson 3.
- If you wish to include images in your website, you'll need a way to scale and crop the images to the sizes desired. The software that came with your digital camera will do the trick, or you could use Photoshop or other digital imaging programs.
- Sample content and images for the site constructed in this book are available on the DVD.
