JOOMLA! BUG SQUAD
Once the next version of Joomla has been released in beta, it's up to the Joomla community to try it out and get it debugged. The Joomla Bug Squad is made up of many individuals who identify bugs, confirm bugs, code solutions, and test those solutions to ensure that they work.
While coding solutions to bugs is probably beyond your current Joomla skill set, there's no reason that you can't download and test the latest versions of Joomla to ensure that they're working correctly. If you find bugs, it's easy to enter the bug on the Joomla Bug Tracker. From there, someone will confirm whether it's a bug (or not) and work on fixing it.
