JOOMLA! EVENTS

Each year, dozens of Joomla events are held around the world. The most popular type of Joomla event is a Joomla!Day. Typically organized and run by a user group, a Joomla!Day is often a one- to two-day event, featuring both local speakers and some of the Joomla leadership. Some events are quite large, with hundreds of attendees, while other events are much smaller. Joomla!Days are attended by both brand-new Joomla users and those who have spent years working with Joomla.

In recent years, other types of events are offered as well. Joomla!Night is a new event, first held in Sweden in February 2011. This was designed to be a shorter event, just a few hours long, followed by a party. Joomla User Group New England held a JoomSki event in 2010, which featured a day of hands-on Joomla training, followed by a day of skiing at the local slopes. InstallFest events are also common, which feature hands-on training about how to install and configure Joomla.

Most Joomla events are posted on the Joomla Community website, at http://community.joomla.org.
