The Custom HTML Module and Its Uses
One of the handiest modules that comes with Joomla appears to be one of the most boring at first glance — the custom HTML module.
Essentially, this module is just a block of text. Type in whatever you want, just as you would an article, and it will show up in the module position of your choice.
Because this module is so simple, it's also very flexible. For example, if you want to show your Facebook or Twitter feeds on your website, or a Google map to your location, you can use the custom HTML module to hold the HTML these sites provide for displaying these widgets.
