Idea 64: Using visual aids

Why use visual aids? Because we take in much of our information, more than 50 per cent, through the gateway of our eyes. Therefore there is always a strong case for using visual aids, especially if your presentation is primarily about conveying information.

Some General Tips for Using Visual Aids

1. Use a series of pictures to structure your presentation for you and allow you to look at the audience while developing each point. Look at the audience more than the pictures on the screen.

2. Present only essential information on each picture.

3. Restrict the content to about 25 words or the equivalent in figures.
