Preface
As a leader – whatever your field – you are the one responsible for finding the right ideas. You may not be the author of the ideas yourself. But you do need resourcefulness, a proper sense of timing for when conditions are ripe for a given idea and also, of course, judgement and the capability to select the best ideas from those presented to you. Ideas are a leader's business.
The ideas I am talking about may relate to any aspect of your team's or organization's common endeavour, ranging from incremental improvements in its normal flow of activities to really significant innovations and major changes. For creativity embraces not only having the right idea, but also giving it objective existence.
