For most of us, relevance means having a relation to or a bearing on the matter in hand or the present circumstances. In discussion, for example, a relevant comment, suggestion or idea has a traceable connection, especially a logical connection, with whatever is under consideration. Therefore it has significance in some degree for those who are engaged in such consideration.
