According to an ancient Roman proverb:

Integrity is the noblest possession.

Integrity implies trustworthiness and incorruptibility to a degree that one is incapable of being false. A person of integrity prizes truth above all else.

Establishing the truth – the realities of the situation or what is in fact the case – is always a necessary condition for effective decision making. Not that it is easy. Indeed, in some situations truth may be hard to come by.
