Julius Caesar dictated to five secretaries who accompanied him on horseback as he rode on his campaigns – his way of making full use of committed time.

Some tips for making the best use of your committed time:

  • You have to commit time, but not all committed time is used. Become aware of time as a piece of cloth that you are continually cutting into shape. Pick up the offcuts, the pieces of marginal time, and make use of them.
  • Waiting time, be it long or short, can be a positive opportunity rather than a negative time drag. Become a wait watcher!
