Idea 50: Prioritize – no, really prioritize

Keep the general goal in sight while tackling daily tasks.

A priority is composed of two elements in various mixtures: urgency and importance. Repairing that punctured tyre on your car is urgent, but it is not important. It is important that you begin to think about next year's marketing strategy, but it is not urgent. But it is both urgent and important that you convince the chief executive about new sales campaigns at your 4.30 pm meeting today.
