Idea 41: Don't waste time on the past

Time wastes our bodies and our wits,But we waste Time, so we are quits.

The focus of your active thinking time and your reflective thinking time should be on the present and the future, not the past. The reason is that the past is fixed; you cannot decide anything or do anything about it. Crying over spilt milk, as the proverb puts it, is a complete waste of your time.

Failures, mistakes and errors all have lessons for the present and the future. Once you have teased them out and taken them on board, turn your face to the future once more, to ‘fresh fields and pastures new’.
