Idea 40: Avoid procrastinating

Procrastination – putting off until tomorrow (and tomorrow and tomorrow) what you should do today – is the proverbial ‘thief of time’. Everyone procrastinates sometimes, but for some people it becomes a bad habit.

Procrastination might be defined as the act of delaying starting or completing tasks that you consider important. It's a form of self-sabotage: you are simply handicapping yourself.

Chronic procrastinators give you reasons, but they are really rationalizations or excuses. One way of avoiding the risk of failure is to do nothing. But, as Shakespeare said, ‘nothing will come of nothing’, least of all any form of personal success.
