Chapter 6. Problem Solving with Multiple Columns

  • 6.1 Introduction

  • 6.2 Comparing Multiple Columns

  • 6.3 Filtering Data for Insight

  • 6.4 Model Fitting, Visualization, and What If Analysis

  • 6.5 Summary

The previous chapter focused on problem solving when you have one or two columns of interest. This chapter builds on the previous chapter's framework for problem solving and introduces a method to understand multiple column and group relationships.

We introduce advanced analytical methods including Partition, Fit Model, and Prediction Profiler to help us understand the multi-column/variable relationships in the data. Most real-world problems involve more than one-or two-column relationships so the Partition approach is warranted.
