Summary

In this chapter, we first looked at how we can integrate JIRA with user repositories, such as LDAP, through user directories. We then looked at JIRA's user management options with groups and project roles. While both are very similar, groups are global, while project roles are specific to each project.

We have also learned how JIRA hierarchically manages permissions. We discussed each permission level in detail and how to manage them.

In the next chapter, we will take a different angle and start looking at another powerful use of JIRA, getting your data out through reporting.
