Summary

In this chapter you were introduced to the JBoss persistence layer abstraction and shown how a custom persistence layer could be provided using a file system based store as an example. JAWS, the default JBoss CMP persistence manager, was also discussed and customization of the JAWS engine using the jaws.xml descriptor was presented. Configuration of a JDBC database pool using the XADataSourceLoader MBean was examined.
