Next Generation Web services

As mentioned at the beginning of this chapter, the first generation of Web services tools provided build and deployment mechanisms for applications to provide UDDI, WSDL, and SOAP interfaces. Next generation tools, such as BEA WebLogic with WebLogic Workshop technology, provide developer assistance with these protocols, including graphical tools and code generators.

Just as HTTP, browsers, and the Web are ubiquitous today, so are UDDI, WSDL, and SOAP becoming. Something is needed to bridge the span from the way Web services are developed today to the future, where every software application will be a Web service.
