The wide variety of EJB servers and Web servers is both a blessing and a curse. It's wonderful to have so many choices, but each server has its own peculiar behavior that you must learn. This is especially true in the case of EJB servers, where most servers have their own format for configuration files. Although the EJB specification defines an XML structure for configuring EJBs, the specification is intentionally vague on the configuration of certain items, giving vendors freedom in their implementation, but causing headaches for the users.
