Security is a tricky business, and it is difficult to anticipate the clever ways people can circumvent your security measures. When it comes to online shopping, there are ways that someone could trick an unsuspecting user. For example, someone could trick your browser into going to amazzon.com rather than amazon.com, taking your credit card number and saving it for future use. There is really nothing amazon.com could to do to prevent this either; it's up to you to look at the address line on your browser to make sure you're where you expect to be.
