Summary

The JAXR API gives you a simple, standard way to access XML registries. You should be able to adapt to new registry formats with few or no code changes. Because JAXR is one of the newest XML APIs, you may see some significant changes as it stabilizes, but overall it should already be sufficient for most applications. JAXR gives you a standard way to access XML registries, whereas the JAXM API gives you a standard way to send XML messages, such as SOAP messages. In Chapter 15, you'll learn how to use the JAXM API.
