1.3. What This Book Is Not
This is not a ColdFusion book. This book assumes that you are a knowledgeable ColdFusion developer; as such, it does not teach ColdFusion or new features found in ColdFusion MX. There are many good books for that.
Java is a lot to learn. It would be very difficult to cover all aspects of the language. This book covers significant aspects of the Java language, with an emphasis on the areas that Web developers need to work with most; it does not cover AWT or Swing in much depth. These are aspects of GUI development that you will have no trouble learning on your own after finishing this book. It also does not cover Enterprise JavaBeans in much depth.
