10.6. Conclusion

As we've seen, establishing an architectural vision is of utmost importance. Systems with a robust, resilient, and extensible architecture are more likely to accommodate growth. This architectural vision consists of much more than simply a series of elegant, yet disjointed, designs. It must encompass the system in its entirety, focusing on those elements that are most architecturally significant. These architecturally significant elements may be those that are of the highest risk, are most functionally complex, or are tightest in terms of scheduling.
