This chapter doesn't pretend to be a comprehensive coverage of the Document Object Model; this would be a very thick book indeed just for one browser! The plan has been to give you a flavor of the things you can do with examples for you to follow to get the idea of how they're done. The examples are things you can modify easily and set to work to do something useful on your Web site.
