Communicating Over Networks

Communicating over networks requires reliable delivery services that can carry information between any two computers in a network as vast as the Internet. The delivery services must work regardless of the computer hardware and software connected to the network. The Internet provides delivery services using a suite of protocols commonly known as TCP/IP. Nearly all networks now provide TCP/IP as one of the protocols you can use for communicating with their resources. You use TCP/IP when you create JavaBeans components that network most of the time.
