This book is intended for developers who need a comprehensive guide on writing SQLJ programs or who wish to migrate from JDBC to SQLJ. It will also be useful to technical managers who need a thorough introduction to SQLJ. A working knowledge of the Java programming language and object-oriented concepts is assumed. If you need a starter book on Java, I recommend Learning Java by Patrick Niemeyer and Jonathan Knudson (O'Reilly). For those of you who don't know anything about Oracle database technology or who need a refresher, Chapter 2 covers the basics.
