The purpose of this book is simply to teach the reader to program graphical user interface applications using Java.
It attempts to accomplish this singular goal by giving the reader a conceptual and pragmatic foundation on which to build whatever knowledge is necessary to make him/her an accomplished Java GUI programmer.
This book assumes that you have fluency with the Java programming language. It does not, however, require any experience with GUI programming. In fact, it does not target readers with any particular level of GUI programming knowledge.
