The advancement of the web technology since 2005 has been about attaining asynchronous communications. The first breakthrough with these techniques came through the AJAX frameworks, which exploited a little used client-side API in the Internet Explorer web browser and then the subsequent web browsers to send a request asynchronously to a server, and then wait for a response in a non-blocking fashion.
