Chapter 6. Satisfaction

A little success can be a wonderful thing—but don't forget that a little success can be more damaging than none at all.

Imagine two young, newly formed bands, both equally talented and both with an equal love of music. Both start out playing cover tunes at parties, entertaining their friends and family with "Louie Louie" and "Twist and Shout." Both see the road wide open before them, and both assume it's going to lead them straight to worldwide success.

Fast-forward ten years. One of those bands is selling out stadiums, and one's still playing "Louie Louie" on Tuesdays at the airport Holiday Inn. What happened along the way to send two bands from the same starting point to two totally different destinations?
