Mick Jagger once said that having money is a full-time job. To which I'd add: it's funny how much you can enjoy life when money's not an issue. In the early days of 38, we'd play five sets a night, every single night. That's the way you get really good.

Most rock bands have a similar story in their history, a time when they honed their skills to a razor's edge out on the road. When you're playing that many shows and getting that close to your bandmates, it's literally like a marriage with five or six people involved. You're closer to these guys than you are to your own family.
