BEA WebLogic Server is one of the best commercially available, J2EE-compliant Application Server software products. It is best known for its ease of use (especially to those developers who still prefer command line tools and the flexibility it provides in automation through scripts, like yours truly), reliability, scalability, and security features.
WebLogic Server 7.0 with SP2, the version used to illustrate EJB Security, is J2EE 1.3 certified. At the time of this book going to the press, its next version WebLogic Server 8.1 has been released.
