8.6. Other Frameworks

Struts is far from being the only such framework product available. However, it seems to be by far the most popular, so if you only have time to learn one, this is probably a good choice. The Apache Jakarta project also has, for example, the Turbine framework (which looks to provide a number of reusable components useful in building Web sites). From the XML side of Apache (http://xml.apache.org), there is the Cocoon framework, which is built around a concept of processing “pipelines” where various components can be strung together to build up complex processes out of small reusable parts.
