Summary
This chapter explained the implementation of a Model 2/MVC/framework-based application using the Struts package. We examined the code in detail and found useful implementations of the DAO and value object design patterns. We also demonstrated of the use of XML transformations to create HTML output.
In the next chapter we will take a look at some of the servlets and helper classes we saw used in the code shown in this chapter: the BlobView servlet and the DAO and value object implementations. We will also examine how to integrate EJBs into this application by implementing the ShoppingCartBean shown in this chapter as an EJB.
