Large enterprises have a great deal of information to work with. For instance, a large clothing retailer may capture 300 gigabytes of information per year. Some portion of this information must be exchanged with suppliers and other divisions. For example, shipping must notify stores of shipments. Stores must notify inventory control of orders (see Figure 22-1).
