Sharing and Buying Themes

Now that you’ve created your own eye-popping Keynote theme, it’s time to share it with your friends and coworkers. Send along your template as an email attachment, on a CD, or put it online to share with the world. First, though, you have to dredge up the theme file, buried deep in Keynote’s theme basement. If you saved your theme in Keynote’s standard location, you can get to it by navigating to this folder: [your Home directory] → Library → Application Support → iWork → Keynote → Themes. When someone sends you a new Keynote theme, you install it by dropping it into that same folder.

Whether or not you decide to share your creations, lots of other people are doing it. Apple’s built-in Keynote themes includes a wide variety of designs, but there are hundreds, maybe thousands of other professionally designed templates for you to discover.
